Mouse

Mice are designed for different uses, so finding the best mouse for your specific needs is important. If you're looking for a gaming mouse, you need an option with low click latency and great performance so that it feels responsive and accurate. If you're looking for the best mouse for the office, ergonomics will likely be more important since you're going to use it for hours each day. Some also may prefer something wireless to get rid of cable clutter. Not all mice are made with the same use in mind, so it's important to know what you're looking for.
We've tested over 245 mice, and below are our recommendations for the best mice to buy for different uses. If you're a gamer, see our recommendations for the best lightweight mouse, the best gaming mouse, the best MMO mouse, or the best FPS mouse.
Best Gaming Mouse: Razer Viper Ultimate
Connectivity WirelessTypeStandardThe best mouse for gaming we’ve tested is the Razer Viper Ultimate. It's lightweight and has a solid plastic body that feels very well-built. It has a true ambidextrous design with two side buttons on either side, making it suitable for either right or left-handed users. Despite being a wireless mouse, it also has a very light and flexible charging cable that marks a real improvement over some of Razer's older cables.
This gaming-oriented model offers extremely low click latency and a very wide CPI range, within which you can set your CPI in steps of 50 to get the sensitivity setting that feels right for you. There's also RGB lighting built into the mouse that you can customize using the companion software. The companion software also allows you to remap buttons and assign a Hypershift button to enable a secondary layer of inputs should you need them.
Unfortunately, it isn't a great fit for gamers with larger hands who prefer using a palm or claw grip, though it lends itself very well to a fingertip grip for all hand sizes. Altogether, it's a great option with plenty of power under the hood for top-tier gamers. It also happens to be one of the best wireless gaming micewe've tested, and it's an outstanding choice for left-handed gamers who might otherwise struggle to find a mouse with side buttons on the right.
